Chysauster Iron-Age Village is an ancient site village built 2000 yrs ago and is preserved by English Heritage. Remains of several round hut circles are present and the site is within walking distance of our holiday caravan.
Take a short drive north along winding country lanes passing through granite built farmsteads and over wild moorland, and catch glimpses of the ruined engine houses of abanoned tin mines, such as Geevor mine, Pendeen and Botallack, where tin was mined under the sea.

This northern coast with its Atlantic rollers is popular with surfers and good surfing and wide sandy beaches can be enjoyed at Sennen cove, Gwithian and Porthmeor beach St.Ives
The Wayside Museum in Zennor is a wonderfull folk museum of local life and has appeared on BBC tv. Also in Zennor is the church with a carving of the mythical mermaid carved on the end of a pew.
In contrast head south towards Penzance, passing through the working fishing port of Newlyn and along the scenic coast road towards the lush green valley of Lamorna, seeing places that have inspired artists, songwriters and authors. This south coast boasts many beautiful sandy beaches and pretty fishing coves such as Mousehole and Penberth. Porthcurno, one of the more popular beaches, has a safe,wide sandy beach and is renowned for The Minack, an open air theatre built into the cliffside overlooking the beach and offering daily performances in the summer season.
